Team
Del Grover began his career as an apprentice at Space Airconditioning (a Daikin distributor), then moved to Pillinger Air as Technical Supervisor. To enhance his expertise, he joined Daikin Airconditioning UK as the London & Southeast FQS Manager. With a career focused on Daikin equipment, he founded Cube Airconditioning Ltd in 2006, providing service, maintenance, equipment overhauls, and installations. Leveraging his connections, Cube Airconditioning has been a Daikin Service Partner since its inception, regularly performing work with Daikin UK.
Are they expensive to use?
Traditional radiator heating and air conditioning have running costs – however, what many people do not realise is that an air conditioning unit is a heat pump or a green technology that works in a similar way to your domestic fridge. Surprisingly, air con units use comparatively small amounts of electricity to create enough cooling and heating for your home; it’s all about coefficient of performance, (COP) which measures the energy consumed vs the heat or cooling achieved.
The typical cost of domestic energy is around 25-30 pence per kWh, therefore a single unit will have a running cost of under 30p an hour.
Do AC Systems require lots of Maintenance?
While AC units are incredibly robust and reliable like all mechanical and electronic equipment, Airconditioning Systems will need regular maintenance. We recommend and annual service which involves a full check of the efficiency of the system and a cleaning of filters. Regular servicing is necessary to maintain the warranty and will extend the life of the air conditioning system. Our routine servicing plans include a wide range of tests and checks, including on HVAC, some of which can only be carried out by a qualified engineer.
How long does Airconditioning Systems last?
A top brand will last 15yrs + with regular maintenance (minimum once per year but depends on usage). Most top brands will guarantee spare part availability for 12 years.
